PISA
PIAZZA DEI MIRACOLI (THE SQUARE OF MIRACLES)

Piazza del Duomo, in Pisa, has been included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites since 1987.
Here you can admire the monuments that were the center of the religious life of the city, called “miracles” by Gabriele d’Annunzio, in 1910 for their beauty and originality: the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Camposanto and the Campanile.

TOUR

The guided tour of Piazza dei Miracoli – and exclusively of the square – proposed in this itinerary, will make us understand why Pisa can boast such splendor. We will talk about the Maritime Republic, the men and events that are at the origin of the monumental complex, the theological conception that guided the hand of architects, but above all we will try to discover the beauty, even the less evident, which is hidden among the beautiful buildings that make up the square.
.

This visit is not only suitable for visitors who, despite having little time, do not want to renounce to know famous works of art, but it is above all revealing the life of this city in an era, the medieval, suggestive and different, but perhaps also so similar to ours. Particular attention will be dedicated to the pulpit of Giovanni Pisano, to the bronze doors of the cathedral, as well as to the Camposanto with its impressive “Triumph of Death”, the huge medieval fresco of Buffalmacco.
